The minute that opening sample hits, it’s clear we’re about to embark on a mafioso rap epic. R-Mean kicks off the 28th week of his Mean Mondays series in style, spitting double time knowledge over a cinematic string loop. The sample sounds like something that played when Michael went back to the home country in Godfather, and R-Mean appropriately goes in like a capo.
The track isn’t all lavish, however. In true R-Mean fashion, the Armenian rapper gets deep, using poetic imagery and pop culture references to paint a picture of his inner struggle. It’s a dope track, and one of the strongest Mean Mondays installments thus far.
