The Avalanches – Bad Day Ft. Freddie Gibb

A summer jam in the middle of winter, it’s no wonder a group from Down Under produced “Bad Day.” Australian production collective The Avalanches linked up with Indiana-bred rapper Freddie Gibb on this cool track about a sunny, crappy day.

The Avalanches recently dropped Wildflower, their first album together in 16 years. Called a “rough mix” and a “Christmas jam for you all,” “Bad Day” will have you on repeat till the weekend.

Bonafide bad boy Gibb channels Biggie, talking about “life without fear, putting five karats” in his “baby girl ear.” Meanwhile, The Avalanches toy with samples of Shuggie Otis’ “Strawberry Letter 23” and Stevie Wonder’s “For Once in My Life,” seamlessly splicing them into a dance beat.
