PartyNextDoor has been having a quietly prolific 2017. Though he’s yet to deliver his upcoming full length Club Atlantis, the singer and producer has been releasing loose tracks and low stakes projects quite regularly over the last few months. Starting with the highly underrated Colours 2 EP, Party has released a total of eight tracks, boosted considerably by his Seven Days EP released on Friday. Unlike Colours, Seven Days sports some big collaborations with fall tourmate Halsey and MMG boss Rick Ross. “Better Man,” which features Rozay, is one of the collection’s strongest tracks, playing into the intimate quality of PND’s best songs, while also sporting some crisp, driving drum programming that makes it stand out on the project. It finds the singer reasoning with a lover, and striving for more. “It seems like breakin’ your heart is the easiest part / And lovin’ you right, only gets harder,” he croons. “Just give me some time so I can be a better lover.” Meanwhile, Ross proves himself as a rapper who can compliment an R&B song without resorting to auto-pilot.
